RED SOX! RED SOX! YEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAH!
Oct. 21st, 2004 06:15 pmWent over to
tikvah's house to watch the game last night, as I don't have cable.
That grand slam was BEAUTIFUL.
Just for the record... the Sox have not made it to a World Series since AFTER the year of the earthquake, where the Series was not fully played.
There are readings of the Curse of the Bambino that suggest that this event (the earthquake-caused incompletion) may have rendered the curse inoperative.
I don't know if I'm daring to hope yet. But I want, I want, I WANT...
GO SOX!

So when spouse picked me up from work last night on his way home from the gym, I greeted him with, "Um, in case you're interested, top-of-the-fourth-Red-Sox-ahead-8-1." And then I did a little happy dance. And he stared at me like someone had secretly replaced his wife with an alien. And then he found the game on the radio. :)
If the Astros make it to the World Series, spouse (who lived in Houston for eleven years and cares about sports) will have a hard time deciding who to root for. But I'm still pulling for the Sox. :D
it was glorious
