Course, you may with to take this with a fairly sizable block of salt, as I have no idea where my iron is, and the ironing board itself would require excavation, should I need it. Um, and the last time I used my iron it was to do some sort of craft task involving wax paper.

I have a foldout one attached to the wall in the laundry room, and the iron's right there on the table below it.

And my computer is in the laundry room, too. The laundry room is right off the kitchen, it used to be a butler's pantry.

Of course, with you, it probably doesn't matter if some hair sticks out on the sides. I really try to keep mine COVERED covered. So it won't get in the food.

Note to self: buy one of those sprinkler top bottles from Vermont Country Store, and add some oil of clary sage to the water. Everyone does lavender water for chi-chi scented linens, but clary sage is lovely lovely stuff that has mood lifting properties.

Granted, I didn't own an iron for about a year. Bought one about a month ago. It's still in the box. Which is now in storage.

Ironing board? What's that? Oh yeah, that thing I dig out when I quilt. Which I haven't done in years. And the last ironing board was left behind in Panama City and has yet to be replaced.

But if the edges of your bandannas curl up, then hell yeah you should iron those puppies into submission. But in the future get ones that don't misbehave after washing.

I think it's the nature of any 100% cotton bandanda to get crumpled edges in the wash.

I could look for ones that don't, but I seriously doubt I would find them at the dollar store.

I love wrinkle-free shirts. They're not really wrinkle-free, but enough that a good hanging gets the rest of the wrinkles out. The only thing I iron these days is cloth napkins.

Just a little bit eccentric, I think. After all, looking nice in the kitchen is good :-)

Now, if I ironed my bandanas (considering that when I wear them it's in circumstances where I look a complete itinerant spailpín anyhow, and when I don't wear them I'm carrying them as handkerchiefs), that would be freakish :-)

You are not only a complete freak, you are The Compleat Freak. But you are a sensible and tidy one, and delightful and harmless, and a number of other almost entirely positive adjectives that escape me at the moment, and so you place not your trust in wards and spells but save it all for a good heavy iron.

The only dangerous thing in ironing bandanas is that one might start to look like a refugee from the early 1980's, and not in that good sense either. But I think there's little danger of that in you. ;-)

Please to elaborate on this refugee look. I fold not the bandanas into headbands tied around my forehead, still less do I wrap said headband with narrow gold braid. I fold them into triangles, and yea verily do I use them in the venerable kerchief style, now enjoying a fashion resurgence, if the several girls I saw sporting the same at laser tag were anything to judge by.

It keeps the hair out of the food.
