Date: 2004-09-09 03:36 pm (UTC)Right now I'd like to learn some whole grain dishes since I need more of them in my diet. I'm especially interested in amaranth and quinoa for their high protein content. Any foods that offer a vegetarian source of the omega fatty acids group is good too.
No, I'm not strictly vegetarian, I'm just allergic to fish. But I love vegan and vegetarian foods.

I was going to suggest kasha varnishkes for the whole grain buckwheat groats, but then I remembered that the main reason I like kasha varnishkes is to soak up all the good cooking gravy from beef brisket. I suppose if you made it with caramelized onions it would have some of the same savory goodness without the meat.
