I've packed eight, I think, and those two (well, three) bookshelves still aren't quite cleared.

This does not bode well.

How the hell did it all fit into the house in the first place?

Dunno, but I'm trying to pack my apartment, and I had to get more banker's boxes too. It's amazing the amount of *stuff* you find out you have when you're trying to pack it all up.

My theory is the Stuff breeds in your house, and you don't see it til you move. Papers, books, pots, pans, washcloths....they all multiply and are fruitful.

Then how come you never have what you want when you want it when it's IN the house?

I don't get it.

Ummmmm okay. There was this Theodore Sturgeon short story that was adapted for the New Twilight Zone (not the New New Twilight Zone, that sucks, but the New Twilight Zone when Ellison and Strazynski ((can't spell that anymore)) were a part of it) about how, um, it was something v convincing about how time is a dimension built moment to moment by little blue guys, and sometimes they forget and leave objects behind, like your watch or your shoes or your glasses or your keys or your lighter or what have you, and that's why you can't find them, and then a few minutes later that's why they pop up in the place you KNOW you looked just ten minutes before.

sigh. It's a lot more convincing when Theodore Sturgeon explains it....

THE BLUE GUYS! The set builders! Who are in Chroma Key Blue so they aren't visible! I SAW THAT EPISODE and have been explaining lost keys with that concept EVER SINCE!!!!!

But it does not explain how the house gets so crammed full of Stuff and there's obviously far too much to move and did you REALLY need all of this, WTF, and yet when you are there you can't POSSIBLY let any of it go and you keep needing to acquire MORE stuff.

YES OMFG EVIL TWIN! DUDE! NOBODY HAS EVER SEEN THAT EPISODE BUT ME! YES! THE BLUE GUYS!

//is way too excited you have also seen that ep (I thought a lot of that New TZ stuff was GREAT -- they had great actors, and they did a BEAUTIFUL adaptation of Her Pilgrim Soul and another Sturgeon, the Saucer of Loneliness. sigh).

//tries to call Theodore Sturgeon in heaven on cell phone

....okay, I won't make the THAT NUMBER IS OUTSIDE YOUR CALLING AREA joke. I really won't.

Do they have New TZ at Netflix? I could stand to watch what I missed when I was a young'un.

And why, WHY do you live all the way across the country? You need to be HERE, coming to ride roller coasters with me and going to Goth clubs and going out for pho and bubble tea and making "I peench" jokes with me and [livejournal.com profile] eternaleponine and listening to The Black Parade over and over and backing me up with her when she doesn't want to listen to The Harder They Come and I want it on repeat.

d00d, I do not know! I have lots of them on scarily old videotape that actually probably still works, just like my scarily old VCR.

//cries
