Ummmmm okay. There was this Theodore Sturgeon short story that was adapted for the New Twilight Zone (not the New New Twilight Zone, that sucks, but the New Twilight Zone when Ellison and Strazynski ((can't spell that anymore)) were a part of it) about how, um, it was something v convincing about how time is a dimension built moment to moment by little blue guys, and sometimes they forget and leave objects behind, like your watch or your shoes or your glasses or your keys or your lighter or what have you, and that's why you can't find them, and then a few minutes later that's why they pop up in the place you KNOW you looked just ten minutes before.
sigh. It's a lot more convincing when Theodore Sturgeon explains it....
