and for 15 minutes, I did dishes, actually getting the sink clear, and then ran the dishwasher. That meant there'd be no hot water for my shower, so I spent 15 more minutes in my bedroom, stuffing laundry into laundry bags and putting away clean or cleanish clothes on my bed, and now it doesn't look like a king-sized laundry pile any more.

Then I made myself a grilled cheese sandwich with lemon wasabi sauce where normal people would have mustard, and two glasses of V8 juice with lime. My head is still stuffy, particularly around my ears, but I feel a little bit more alive.

Tomorrow [livejournal.com profile] shadowflyer and I have got to tip the dryer over onto its face so he can get the legs off so he can get the back off so we can replace the broken belt. Then with any luck we can start doing laundry at HOME again instead of dragging it over to other people's houses. That would make things a little easier.

I am debating over whether to go down to the basement and turn the water heater up a few notches. Ever since we got the heater replaced I have not been able to get my shower hot enough for me -- I turn on the hot water ONLY and it's still too cold and it runs out awfully fast too. Admittedly, I like my showers very hot -- 112.5 F, I determined during labor with [livejournal.com profile] melovechocolate, because the shower in the birthing room had a temperature gauge, and if it slid below 112 it was too cold and if it went over 113 it was too hot. Yes, I'm a freak. What's stopping me from doing this is the knowledge of just how much money we owe the gas company ALREADY, and that turning up the hot water heater is only going to make it worse.

I should check to see if the mail is here. There ought to be a tax refund coming that would solve a lot of those sorts of problems, at least for a little bit.

But I am still going out dancing tonight.

Yay! for productivity!
Always feels good to get that stuff done, doesn't it?

Your wasabi sauce sounds good.

Actually, normal people put ketchup on grilled cheese.

Me, I put on whole-seed moutarde de Meaux, when I've got it. (And I do. In a hinged jar in the fridge. I think [livejournal.com profile] tamidon swapped with somebody for it.)

Ketchup on grilled cheese? Ewwwww.

Moutarde de Meaux is good stuff. I was using one of the empty stoneware crocks from it for a pencil pot, at one point. Very pretty pencil pot, although I like the Three Fruits Marmalade even better for that purpose.

I usually eat my grilled cheese plain. With a bowl of tomato soup on the side, but no condiment actually on the sandwich (other than the butter on the outside of the bread...)

Mmm... comfort food...

Ketchup on grilled cheese is surprisingly good, if it's a nice wonder bread and american cheez food product sandwich. I think it's an extension of the tomato soup thing.

Wait, what, mustard? On grilled cheese?! Ew!

The only condiment that could possibly go on a grilled cheese sandwich is pickle relish. I state this categorically.

Though lemon wasabi sounds good. Yay for a more orderly environment!
