Cordelia Naismith Vorkosigan, from Lois McMaster Bujold's Barryar chronicles. I wouldn't be surprised if half the women on my friendslist say the same. And that a lot of the ones who don't have never read the stories.

Cordelia's too unflappable for me, but I started the books with The Warrior's Apprentice and haven't circled back around to the first two yet (I'm reading Cryoburn now), so I haven't met young Cordelia yet.

You should read the first two books, you'll get a better picture of her as a character. Cordelia makes a great protagonist, when she's not busy shopping (*))


(*) Her triumphant return from shopping is one of the best scenes in the second book.

Julianne Moore is obvious -- strong redhead. Harrison Ford -- well, he is short, and somewhat saturnine, and just LOOK at his aging process through the years -- it's SO EXACTLY how Aral would grow older! And the celebrity shots over the years, with his fond expression as he looks at his wife or girlfriend... and, IIRC, he has been VERY media-protective of his kids, too, which is an Aral thing as well.

In conclusion, TOTALLY ARAL.
