rikibethImportant discovery: it is possible to divert an online discussion of gun control from getting acrimonious, even among people who have widely-diverging and strongly-held opinions on the subject, by contrasting "gun appropriate for dealing with violent stalker" and "gun appropriate for dealing with zombie uprising." Everyone will become supremely interested in optimizing their chances for zombie survival, and boring but divisive questions like waiting periods and background checks will be cheerfully ignored.
