Will someone who has it up and running tell me whether Google's enabled it for me, or if I'm still invisible on that particular axis?

I have two Gmail addresses, one which I use for pretty much everything, and one other which I just set up to keep Business Things on. The business one includes my last name, the catch-all doesn't.

I really don't want to have to poke at this if I don't have to, but I also don't especially want another application, one I never asked for in the first place, to go about broadcasting whatever it is Google Buzz broadcasts when I didn't ask it to.

I just read Abi's post at ML--from there I found [livejournal.com profile] zeborahnz's tutorial.

I was thinking about finally getting a gmail acct, too. But now, no thanks!

after a few months testing it to the side of my regular mail, I've gone over and redirected all my mail to google mail servers. If you control a domain, it's very easy to set up gmail for your mail client. Youget gmail, and google chat, but not Buzz.

I don't control a domain and I hate chatting. So, still no gmail for me!

Buzz is Google attempting to be Facebook and Twitter simultaneously. Google made some very unfortunate technical decisions during the rollout, some of which they've fixed, some of which are still there. Here's a rundown.

ok. so what does 'items you share' made, and what does it mean if someone is following you? its not like they can read your e-mails to other people.

Shared items refers to Reader--it's blog posts you tag as interesting.

"Following" is like following on Twitter. That person's updates appear on your feed.

I think I might be the only person who likes Buzz. It consolidates all my friends' various tweeting, reading, posting, etc.

And we're getting liverwurst tomorrow from the co-op. Woot!
