In a cooking list I'm on, someone just said to "always" proof yeast. And I thought: Always? I bake all the time and never proof my yeast. I suppose it's good advice after all.

Sounds more like your *yeast* fails at Christmas. ;-/ At least it's not Easter, when a lack of Rising might be a real issue...::rim tap::
