so since I'm all of 39 is it okay now to complain about my sore back?

No, really. What's the muscle under your shoulder blade? Because my left one has seized.

Anyone know any chiropractors who'll barter for cupcakes?

also, my Twitters don't seem to be going through.

Sounds like one of the lats to me. Good luck getting it worked out. FWIW, Pilates and chiropractic can be a great combo.

Hey, are you out of the hospital? Hope you're feeling better! Also, I hope you have a big, mean, scary lawyer.

Yeah, I'm out. I don't feel better really... today has been a nasty, nauseuous day. I think I need to sleep more.

And yeah, big mean scary lawyer sounds good. Though right now, I'd settle for not feeling like crap and being afraid I'm going to die.

I'd suggest checking the various actions/rotations listed under the "muscles of the scapular region", and you should be able to figure out which one it is by which movement causes the pain. Heat 20 min. on and off, and gentle movements, are the usual home therapy for that sort of muscle issue.

IANAPhysio, but I was a varsity athlete, so I've had a fair bit of experience from the worked-on end of physio, and some life-drawing training to help with the anatomy side. :)

I might...my ciro is very good and she would probably be open to some sort of bartering. I'm not sure what she's eating these days, I think I heard someone say she was doing an elimation diet...but anyway, I'll e-mail you her name and number!

The muscle is a rhomboid. Chiro wouldn't hurt, but what you really need is a massage therapist. I are one, and you're too far away.

hugs,

Joel

Don't know about chiro, but I do know an amateur masseur who's been told he's pretty good and would probably be okay with helping you out to the best of his abilities in exchange for cooking lessons. He lives in Stamford but does get up to Hartford on a semi-regular basis. It also so happens that you already know this person, because he happens to be me.

Lately I've been trying my hand at Indian food. But what I think you could teach me is the basics of baking. Maybe also home made pasta? I'm unemployed and free most every day, so if you don't mind schlepping down here on your days off, that would work fine. I'm not exactly rolling in ga$ money.

Feel free to message me here w/ your number & email.

btw---don't you still owe me some beers for helping you move way back when? ;-)

He does give good backrubs, and I'm hugely tickled that even after leaving Hartford, friends of mine who have met through me are still connecting and helping each other. ;-)

Ouch - I had that happen to me a earlier this summer, it was like a charley horse under my shoulder blade. The two things I found helpful were a heating pad and sleeping on my side/stomach with something supportive under my shoulder so that the muscle was constantly flexed. I used a stuffed hedgehog, but a rolled up pillow would probably work as well.

Hope you get it worked out soon!
