The Cure just announced their rescheduled date for Madison Square Garden.

JUNE 20, 2008. A Friday.

Supposedly, all tickets for the cancelled 9/23 date are going to be honored at the new one.

But I'd already sent mine in for a refund.

So I had to hang on the net waiting for a new date and new on-sale to be announced.

Got it a few minutes ago.

Ordered them. Plus prepaid parking.

Section 224, row B, seats 12-10.

$60 apiece, plus convenience charges, plus $30 for parking.

Getting to see the Cure when I never did in high school, and having [livejournal.com profile] melovechocolate see them before they disappear?

Priceless.

ROBERT SMITH POINTED AT YOU I HATE YOU. :)

My parents were not particularly supportive about me going to concerts. They didn't exactly oppose, but they didn't help a lot either.

Which meant that I missed a lot of shows that I deeply regret now that I'm an old lady. And why I agonized about whether to take away my daughter's MCR ticket last year as a punishment (that she deserved!) when I knew it was going to be rock and roll history and that missing it would be a lifetime regret.

I let her go. It was worth it.

But she hasn't shown me enough school improvement yet for me to indulge her with Fall Out Boy tickets. Much as she would love them.

I was lucky that I was in collage then and this guy I was in love with owned every signal album that they had but out so far and he did play them over and over it is a little bitter sweet when I hear the songs now, when one comes on the radio I can almost taste him odd how music can do that to you like a smell take you right back to that place......

Philly may still be on. They postponed MSG, but not all the dates on the tour.

There's a new Siouxsie solo album coming out soon, oh I hope she tours...

oooh, yes!

As best I can tell, the whole tour has been postponed. Still, nothing official from the venue. GRRR.

I saw them in 96 at the Summit, but it was before [livejournal.com profile] mcroft and I started dating, so I wanted us to see them together. And this time he can buy his own damned shirt instead of stealing mine. *pouty*

I had promised [livejournal.com profile] melovechocolate a shirt as part of her birthday treat. Since it was postponed, I turned over the "Pornography" shirt I got from [livejournal.com profile] pocketpolina for her use. I do believe we are BOTH getting tour shirts when we finally see them. Because tour dates make a shirt THAT MUCH COOLER. (I am still annoyed at Blaqk Audio for having an obvious, even if arty, naked chick on their tour shirt. I wanted tour dates but did not want naked chick and wound up buying a different design.)

I saw them at the Providence Civic Centre in ninety-mumble, when they released Wish. We were way in the back, on the floor-- could hardly see anything. But yeah, something to do before they fade away...

I deliberately rejected the way-in-the-back-on-the-floor seats in favor of the halfway-up section seating, because I know that seats-on-the-floor (as opposed to GA on the floor, which are really my favorite tickets ever) are pretty useless. Yeah, it'll be like watching them on television compared to, say, being right under the left-hand confetti cannon for MCR -- but yes, before they fade away.

I have never seen The Cure in concert. By the time I got into them, it was the late 90s.

I thought they broke up!

Actual new album coming out soon! (They pretend that wanting to do finishing work on the new album was why they postponed their tour.)

Sweet! I saw them once, I think it was the summer of 1989. That was a great concert, all three hours of it. :)

Holy crap. I have to see..If there are any available. The cure are brilliant. What I could do if you wouldn't mind, drop off some $$ and can you gather me a t shirt. If me love chocolate can't go for some reason. Consider me in if you would like . Would pay for the parking/gas/and my ticket. :) But she will have a brilliant time :)
