I am sure that if I were 13 I would have bought H.I.M.'s CD and loved it and learned all the lyrics. After all, I DID do that with Def Leppard's Pyromania.

Ahahaha I misremembered it! But I love the bit in the video where he puts the sword on the neon-green bad special effect table and it turns into A GUITAR!

H.I.M. is great when you're 13. I just don't get how people who are older than that listen to it and go "Yeah man, this music speaks to my soul. This is how I love." PS I'm so jealous that you saw Placebo.

If I could have given you the Placebo set I would have because really they AREN'T THAT GOOD. And I can only take so much of Brian Molko's whine.

Def Leppard? Well, there are greater sins. You could have been into Poison or Whitesnake.

Or *shudder* Van Halen.

Hey, Def Leppard was good! And when they were young the guys were HOTT!

POISON AND WHITESNAKE, EW. They really weren't the same at all. Leppard was early banger-dom. Poison was a joke band, as was Whitesnake (they were DEEP PURPLE first, come on, and the only reason they got a push was the Tawny Kitaen videos). Van Halen was never metal or banging.

....man it is scary how I still remember all this shit.

Tawny Kitaen? I feel like I should know the name, but...I was a child during the 80s.

I owned 1984, I did, and I was so sick of the cutesey duckies and bunnies that everyone was embroidering on their pillows in 8th grade Home Ec that I did a Van Halen logo on the front and a cobra on the back.

Well, that's fair. At least David Lee Roth was still the lead singer then.

Sammy Hagar is a blasphemous abomination...

Hah! You crak me up.

I owned 1984. Also the initial Van Hagar. And their old stuff on a tape that [livejournal.com profile] dosagejt made for me. I became Rather Into Them.

So much so that I'm still eying the Kansas City date for their reunion tour and thinking about how to make it work. I think D would Luv It.

LONG LIVE ROCK'N'ROLL you betcha!

((high-fives back))

are you as terrified as I am by the return of '80s clothes we shouldn't have worn the FIRST time around? No way am I repeating the whole denim mini over lace-edged leggings look, NO NO NO.

You know...if you were going to be up all night you could have done a single review post after the show instead of spamming the living shit out of us all with one-liners.
