Succumbing to temptation
Jan. 3rd, 2004 10:23 pmand starting work on a Snape fic, given some encouragement from kind souls like
bethbethbeth and
neotoma, who didn't dismiss a newbie from already long and involved discussions.
408 words so far, and a useful discussion with Amber buddy
tryslora about how Snape differs from Julian, so I can avoid character bleedover.
Probably more tomorrow, but I need time to mull over how the new insights affect the scene.

Date: 2004-01-04 04:13 pm (UTC)Not that I remember from the books (hey, I had to finish OotP in two days, so as not to keep the eight year old waiting), but I've seen the name mentioned in discussions.

Date: 2004-01-04 04:16 pm (UTC)It doesn't say if he was killed before Snape turned double agent, but he was killed right around the fall of Voldemort, dying rather than being taken, tried, and imprisoned. He's the one who took the chunk out of Mad Eye Moody's nose. :)
And in my version, he's a bookish little geek who gets fed up with the idiocy of others, and joins the Death Eaters as a stepping stone to changing all of the wizarding world... but doesn't quite make it that far... what with the dying thing. :)

But can't you just hear Alan Rickman saying "I enjoy slaughtering beasts, and I think of my relatives constantly" in that VOICE of his?
