I spent yesterday driving in circles, it felt like.

Rental car to work. Over to City Hall to deal with a property tax thing that was on my registration renewal form. Back home, and over to Claude's to clear the junk out of Candy-O. Asked him if he'd be willing to let it stay parked there until I arranged the donation tow. He said "you were gonna donate it? I had someone asking me if you would sell it." I said "really? Someone wants to buy it? Have him make me an offer and the answer is yes, because I thought it was a dead loss."

Back to the house. Called the seller to see if she was home for me to buy the car & get the title. She was. Over to the bank. Money. Over to New Britain. Got the paperwork. Loaded the car junk out of the rental and into Iggy Blue. Got the snow tires. Also got two other tires that fit the car, not on rims, because the sellers were preparing to move and were as happy to get them out of their garage. Whee, free tires! Called insurance agent with the VIN so she could set up coverage.

Back to the house. Got there five minutes after [livejournal.com profile] naivefreedom got in from Albany. Over to Claude's to get the plates off Candy-O. Over to AAA to pick up the temp insurance card. Then over to the rental place to turn in the yucky boring Mazda 6. Hooray, one day less rental than I expected.

Then [livejournal.com profile] naivefreedom let me drive his sweet little red Miata over to DMV to take care of the registration. And sat patiently with me while I waited for my number to be called. That went smoothly. Then I drove it over to New Britain and put the plates on Iggy Blue, and he followed me back to the house. See what I mean about circles?

But it was incredibly useful to have a friend with a car to help with all the back-ing and forth-ing, because if I had needed to rely on the bus, I don't think I would have gotten to DMV before it closed!

On the way back, I about died laughing, because as I was waiting to turn onto Route 9, there was another Volvo 240 in front of me -- a white sedan. And in the rear windshield? Despite the CT license plates?

A Massachusetts Audubon Society decal.

The blue triangle with white bird.

The one that I've sworn is required equipment for all Volvo 240s. Because it seemed like every Volvo I ever saw, growing up, had one of those decals on it.

Yeah. Once this move has settled out? I'm joining. Just to get the decal, so Iggy Blue won't be naked.
