I knew, though, that it was terribly tough and shock-resistant, despite its decorative and festive appearance." Julian is the master of the great Forest of Arden and an expert with animals. As for Julian's personality, Corwin recalled, "Something about a game and my baiting a man and shattering an almost legendary self-control." Corwin further tells Ganelon in Sign of the Unicorn, "The fact that I do not like Julian does not make him unfit (for the throne). In fact, he might even be a very effective monarch."

Martin is Random's son, born of Morganthe, Queen Moire of Rebma's daughter who committed suicide a month after he was born. Martin did not have a chance to know his father until Random found out that someone tried to sacrifice Martin and use his blood to destroy Dworkin's Pattern. (Sign of the Unicorn by Roger Zelazny.) Angered, Random went to find his son to make sure he was all right and to find out who was responsible. Like his father, Martin is a talented musician.

In Roger Zelazny's Sign of the Unicorn, Corwin describes Fiona: "green eyes fixed on Flora's own blue as they spoke, there beside the fireplace, hair more than compensating for the vacant hearth, smoldering, reminded me, as always, of something from which the artist had just drawn back, setting aside his tools, questions forming behind his smile. The place at the base of her throat where his thumb had notched the collarbone always drew my eyes as the mark of a master craftsman, especially as she raised her head, quizzical or imperious, to regard us taller others." Fiona is probably the most intelligent of all the princesses of Amber - or at least the most cunning. Despite her 5'2" height, she is one lady you do not want to tick off.

Aww, what a great quiz! I loved those books as a teen -- I still have the big 2-vol collected around here somewhere, from before they started doing endless non-Zelazny-written sequels.
