rikibeth...because how many people do you know who divide their band buttons into SECTIONS on their jackets?
No, seriously. At first it was all random, but now they're grouped.
The left side (right, as you face it) is all ska bands on the upper and lower flaps, with the vintage cow-saying-No-Nukes at the top, and one of the multitude of Alkaline Trio pins off to one side of the flaps.
The other side has Irish punk bands on the lower flap (with a Red Sox pin as well, saving space by it for a Dropkick Murphys pin when I can get one); the "Nobody Blows Like Neil. Nobody." pin is considered part of that grouping even though Rathkeltair's more trad fusion than punk, because, well, bagpipes and cover of "Blister in the Sun" and all that. The upper flap has been dedicated to All Time Favorites, so Alkaline Trio, Green Day, my ancient Serious Moonlight era Bowie pin, and the Tootsie Pop owl. jbsegal!) is off to the upper side, balancing "No Nukes," and "No Cows" will go there as soon as I get a new pinback for it.
The pocketbook holds bands less easy to classify, and I think Ego Likeness and We Are Scientists are getting moved there... definitely, the Transplants are.
I don't know what I'm going to do when I run out of room. Go to the purse strap, I guess.

Date: 2006-06-25 02:56 pm (UTC)this reminds me of a conversation I witnessed once between some of my old Deadhead friends. It was a snowy, blizzardy day, so we we're all just hanging out, smoking up (much the same as any other non-blizzardy day) when someone pointed out a picture on the wall of Phil Lesh and asked when it had been taken. A very long discussion ensued as to whether the pic was from '73, or '74, based on the length of his sideburns and which color sweatbands he was wearing...(!)
