Maybe this year they won't lose the Injured Spouse form, and I'll get some of the refund that otherwise goes to shadowflyer's student loans.

The state refund is not subject to that, and will, with any luck, cover the exhaust work that I am afraid the Volvo is about to need.

However, I did make it to Haven on Tuesday, which was fun. It's not hard to start a conversation there -- fashion comments are always a good opener, and proved useful with the heavily-checkerboard-encrusted ska boy, and also with the girl in the corset that was identifiable across the room as a Fallen Angel design.

And the Set For Old Farts that they played after last call was pretty gratifying. "Sex Dwarf," which I hadn't heard in about a million years -- I am not sure if it was a cover version, though -- follwed by "This Corrosion," "Love Will Tear Us Apart," and "Boys Don't Cry." Couldn't ask for better.

Work continues on. Last night might not have been particularly busy -- I was able to handle salads and utility together and not screw up too badly.

You have to noodge me to keep my house at least semi-fit for having people over, though, or I'll get the guilts about all the painting the town we're doing.
