As I don't know when I'll next have a Saturday night free, what with the new job and all, and because I am in the mood to celebrate, I am going to Shag Frenzy at the Webster tonight. 80s music.

Who's up for coming along?

I'm meeting Linda later for a tech-support session, in exchange for which I may get dinner. If time and money (the really big concern) permit, I will be there. What time is it and how much is cover?

It starts at 9 PM, I don't know exactly when I'm getting there, and cover is $5, which I could stand you to if it came to that.

I wish I could go, or was home! I miss CT now, and can't wait to hang out with you and everyone else to start forging good friendships with people! Congratulations on your job. Believe me, I will be in direneed of girlfriends in CT :)

This clearly has quite a different meaning in British English ...

I think that the double entendre is very obviously meant.

I'd actually be surprised if more than 10% of the people attending even realized that there was a mid-1960s dance step called the "shag."

We also have shag pile carpet. Very thicky and ... well, shaggy.

Hmm... What's the sound there like these days? Stef and I went to a show at the Webster a while back, and it was so painfully loud (and distorted) it nearly made our ears bleed. It was bad enough that I later took it upon myself to fire the sound guy (http://www.livejournal.com/users/actual_size/39067.html). Have they fixed this problem, or is it still advisable to pack one's auditory canals with Sculpey before going in?

Well, this is dance music being played by a DJ at the "Underground" part of the place, so it's not intolerable. We were able to have a conversation last month, although it did involve raised voices.
