Just enough brioche dough left for the 15 mini sticky buns for the breakfast special order.

Raspberry chocolate chip turnovers to take the place of the brioche and sticky buns that weren't there for the regular breakfast.

Spicy apple cheddar walnut bread.

The tomato florentine soup was all ready from yesterday. 8 quarts downstairs to the freezer for later, 8 quarts in the fridge for the weekend, and today's 4 quarts out front in the soup warmer.

Mushroom barley from the freezer in the soup warmer.

Bye-bye, roasted asparagus and grilled chicken in balsamic fig dressing. Hello, cucumbers in mustard dill vinaigrette. Everything else, still good.

Aioli on the menu so people know to ask for it with their meatloaf sandwiches. Veggie lasagna -- finally got to eat some today. Yum. And turkey wraps with cheddar and curried mango chutney.

Robert didn't back up the cookie dough yesterday, so that, and lemon bars, and macaroon bars had to be right after lunch, because there was an order for a cookie platter for 2 PM. A donation. They hadn't picked the thing up by the time I left at 5, but hey, I had it made on time. Not picked up? Not my problem.

Pies. Stick-in-the-mud customers did not buy very many cranberry apple pies last week. Back to plain old apple. I made 8 of them and 8 very berry, because I was running into hours, and 12 and 12 would have just taken too much time. With those, and 8 pecan pies, and 8 bread puddings, which I made yesterday, we really ought to be fine for the weekend anyway.

I was able to put out the new apple pies AND bar case with the lemon bars and the macaroon bars before I left. Very-berrys still in the oven, Robert watching them.

The boss copied down the cookie cutter address for when she went home, and said that she would buy the fruit-shapes set of 12 for the store, so we'll have a pear-shaped cutter to help sell the pear blackberry pies if I try them again, which I want to do.

Todays's music after Morning Edition was over: [livejournal.com profile] follybard's KitchenAid Mix, Ramones Mania, the mix that our ex-kitchen manager Jen's ex-girlfriend made for her (which I think of as the I Wish I'd Been That Cool Back Then Mix), Evanescence, [livejournal.com profile] wyomingnot's All Men Are Liars mix, and London Calling, and then it was time for All Things Considered.

It was a very good day.

Aioli?

It's garlic mayonnaise, a Provencal specialty. I cheated -- took a handful of peeled garlic cloves, poured some olive oil on them, stuck them in the oven for half an hour, and pureed them and mixed them with prepared mayo.

The real way involved making the mayo from scratch.

I think that is a fair 'cheat.'
Sounds good.

Mark doesn't like meatloaf, but I will occasionally crave it. Like, right about now. Hmmm...
