If my font has suddenly gotten huge on you, it's because I stuck in a style override to make everything 16pt.

Why did I do this, you ask?

Because this morning, when I went to put my glasses on my face, they BROKE.

The right lens frame snapped right by the nosepiece. Lens fell out. Actual metal failure. Doesn't look fixable.

I won't be able to get to the optometrist until Tuesday.

Until then, I need large print.

I apologize for the inconvenience (if this isn't handled by your own friendspage settings).

I want LASIK.

It only shows up when I look at your journal. It's normal on my flist.

Argh! I feel your pain - that happened to me a couple years back (while MAB and I were at a convention, no less, and I had no spares). I took them to a local jeweler, however, and they were able to solder them back together (for much cheaper than new frames would've been), which allowed me to wait to purchase new frames. You might want to look into whether anyone near you will do similar.

What's your vision? Mine's about -7/-7.5, and Lasik won't work on me. The amount they'd have to take off to reshape the lenses would leave them too thin. What I'm looking into are implanted contact lenses.

Last appointment I had, I was told I was an excellent candidate, and that LASIK could probably fix both the nearsightedness AND the astigmatism.

The numbers on my contact lenses when I used to wear them were something like 3 or 3.5. I think.

3, 3.5? Oh, yeah, then you should be fine...

I just wish that my eyes weren't so dry all the time, so's I could wear contacts. Then again, if I'm wishing, I'd want 20/20 vision, micro-and-telescopic vision, IR and UV, heat vision, and the ability to sterilize with a thought...

and the ability to sterilize with a thought...

How much would you charge for that?

Sorry to hear.

Broken glasses are very, very annoying.
