Poetry meme, all over my list
Oct. 15th, 2004 11:11 pmWhen you see this, post a bit of poetry in your journal.
Here,
follybard, a bit of Ogden Nash for you:
I did that from memory, so the footnote may not be entirely verbatim. But you get the idea.
Here,
The one-l lama, he's a priest;
The two-l llama, he's a beast.
And I will bet
A silk pajama
There isn't any
Three-l lllama.
The author's attention has been directed to a type of conflagration known as a three-alarmer. Phooey.
I did that from memory, so the footnote may not be entirely verbatim. But you get the idea.

Here's another Nash gem:
"The Wombat lives across the seas,
Amongst the far Antipodes.
He may subsist on nuts and berries
Or, then again, on missionaries.
His distant habitat precludes
Conclusive knowledge of his moods.
But I would not engage the Wombat
In any form of mortal combat."
