And today, I think it worked.
We had a lot of nuisancey stuff to do in the morning, what with a special order for peanut butter chocolate chip bars, and a lunch order for sandwiches, couscous salad, and a cookie platter, but I did get the lunch salads and sandwiches out by 11:30, and soups out by 12:30 (we had a bit of a Soup Emergency today, guess why, because she wouldn't let me prep earlier in the week).
And then she chopped mirepoix so I could make a mushroom barley soup, and I got that going, and on to the sixteen pear blackberry pies. With a bit of blackberry brandy in the mixture.
I took 11.5 hours, not the 10.5 she wanted, but she had better not complain about it. I got a lot of stuff done.
And I must remember that the Rocky Horror soundtrack is an extraordinarily cheerful thing to listen to at work.

You know ...
Date: 2004-10-15 11:08 am (UTC)I'm thinking that Sisters of Mercy would probably be a good warning sign. That or Johnny Cash. :-)
Re: You know ...
Date: 2004-10-15 04:43 pm (UTC)Although I would LOVE to have a copy of "Floodland" again. Our copy bit the dust after too much traveling and attendant scratches.
Re: You know ...
Date: 2004-10-18 09:11 am (UTC)But then it just might occur to me that burning out a copy of Floodland is one of the richest sources of Goth Points there is ('cos after all, if you haven't burned out at least two copies, you just like to wear a lot of black).
At which point, I'd have a superfluous copy lying around.
And while transferring a copied recording permanently to another person will bring down the Wrath of the
NazgulRIAA, loaning will not.As in indefinite-term loaning.
As in "as long as my estate, or that of an heir who is extraordinarily unlikely to come into being, receives the copy back from your estate or that of Charlotte, that's fine" loaning.
So maybe I will go ahead and rip that backup.
Yes.
