[livejournal.com profile] shadowflyer has been cooking, because after twelve-hour days, or even eight-hour days with extra insanity sauce, I don't want to.

Tonight, he grilled some chicken with a cranberry horseradish sauce (yay Stonewall Kitchen), and we were out of boxed Annie's, so he cooked some rotini and made a cheese sauce himself. I taught him bechamel last week, and he managed it just fine.

This cheese sauce had lots of sherry added. It was extremely yummy.

We also had broccoli. Which I mixed in with the pasta so it would get cheese sauce all over it too.

He wants me to teach him how to make hollandaise now.

I think if I actually get a day off this weekend, we'll have Eggs Benedict for breakfast.

Yum, yum, yum.

Glad you're well fed. That always helps, at least a bit.

Hope you have a better day tommorrow.

I've decided one of my best dishes has become mac-n-cheese...with cubed proscuitto from TJ's, and whole mustard seeds in the cheese sauce. I follow the religion of crumbs on top, with toasted onions in them. Sherry sounds like a good addition. Thanks for the input for tonight's dinner.

Good to hear. Gotta juggle, no?

Our we're-busy dishes these days are veggie/soy stir fry, and refrigerator eggs.

How experienced a cook is [livejournal.com profile] shadowflyer?
