[livejournal.com profile] dancing_moon asked:

What is your major kink in fic?

I'd have to say Legilimency sex. Yummy.

Is it the same in RL, and if it's not and you feel like sharing, what is it?

If it were possible IRL, I'd be kinky for it. IRL, honestly, I'm pretty vanilla. At least compared to the smut I read.

Favourite ice cream?

Right now, Ben & Jerry's Karamel Sutra, although Deering Peppermint Stick is a childhood favorite, especially in ice cream sodas.

[livejournal.com profile] mary_re asked:

What was you favorite subject(or)class in high school(or)college?

In high school, probably chemistry. I flunked out of a couple of prestigious collleges... I think the classes I enjoyed most were the Chaucer and Shakespeare ones, though.

Who is your favorite author?

Oh, don't make me choose! Auuugh! Ellen Kushner's writing, whether solo or with Delia Sherman, makes me want to gnaw my knuckles in envy with alarming frequency, so I'll say her.

Do you have any siblings?

One brother, two years younger, same birthday.

[livejournal.com profile] jedi_penguin asked:

What is your absolute best dish that you've ever made?

This is another "don't make me choose." Quite possibly the roast goose with chestnut stuffing I made for a solstice feast, but I once received a marriage proposal on the strength of my vegetarian lasagna. I also make a mean chicken piccata. And I have inherited the mantle of my late grandmother's rum chiffon pie.

Share recipes, only a select few, or never?

I firmly believe that the world is a better place when good recipes are propagated. Unless an employer tells me it's proprietary information, I'll share the love.

Favorite het pairing?

Julian/Fiona. Um, is it cheating to use Amber instead of Harry Potter? My Potter answer is complicated. My favorite to read is [livejournal.com profile] laylah_r's Severus/Narcissa. My favorite to write is Remus/Tonks, but I don't like most of the ones I read because they make Tonks too girly. And my favorite as a concept is Charlie/Tonks, and I believe in them as a solid couple, but I CANNOT write hot smut for them, because there's just no damn conflict. They meet, they're utterly compatible, they have adorable redheaded hellion babies. No story.

[livejournal.com profile] zdashamber asked:
What sort of thing do you think is best to do on first dates?

Well, Miss Manners says that a date consists of three components: entertainment, food, and affection. For a first date, the entertainment should be kind of elaborate, a movie, or a theatrical performance, or a Renfaire, with food after to discuss the event unless it's Faire where the food is there already, and then the affection can be left decorously tame, to be elaborated later.

My first date with [livejournal.com profile] shadowflyer was to go see Penn & Teller.

When the conversation awkwardly died, what were the topics you dragged out to jolt it forward again?

It's been so long since this happened I can't remember. Of course, one of the main things that attracts me to a person is their ability to talk entertainingly. Always has been.

And, entirely unrelatedly: What's your favorite musical?

Les Miserables. No question about it.

[livejournal.com profile] naamah99 asked:

What was your favorite childhood pet?

Didn't have one. My mother was anti-pet. Kragar is my very first cat!

Who was the first person you ever kissed?

Probably my mother... oh, you don't mean THAT, though. There was a boy named Ross at summer camp with whom I exchanged a couple of brief pecks when I was eleven, but I only sort of count that. What I think of as my first Real Kiss came from a young man named Alex who I met at Boskone 21, in the balcony of the Grand Ballroom of the Park Plaza Hotel, during the screening of "Cat People." I have a tremendous sentimental fondness for David Bowie's song "Putting Out Fire" because of that.

What was the last awesome present you got that came as a total surprise?

[livejournal.com profile] its_art made a wonderful icon for me, unsolicited, based on "Immortal Beloved." You can see it in the userpics for [livejournal.com profile] vlvteenthestral -- it's the green one. It made me go all wibbly.
