Unexpected snag

Can anybody explain to me how to get the hard drive OUT of an ancient G3 PowerMac?

I got one side off the tower. I unscrewed the metal frame holding the hard drive in.

There are still Mysterious Cables tethering it to the guts of the computer, and I can't figure out where they go or how to disconnect them or even how to get any other parts of the tower casing off to give me a better view of the Mysterious Cables.

Help?

Hmm. Is this the blue-and-white G3 tower, or one of the old beige ones?

In either case, you should check out the G3 ZONE pages. Getting to the drive in the beige units is explained here, and for the B&W machines it's here.

I went ahead and called in number42, who not only showed me where the unpluggy bits were, but was willing to haul away the remaining carcass of the machine, and set the hard drive up in its cradle for me.
