I probably just ought to go do the dishes.

Kittyshoes could go either way. I don't check my team's shoes myself, but I'm sure people do.

He saw them once already when I wore them into the office for fingerprint training day, and said nothing. My direct supervisor says they're no problem, especially since I've got the rest of me in dress slacks, a plain cami, and a tailored blazer, and am doing my best impression of what Emily Prentiss (see icon) would look like if she had curly hair, and that the grandboss is far more concerned about flip-flops and showing off the pedicure, and anything that reads too thug or too hoochie.

When my paycheck hits, I'm going to Payless for a nice plain pair of ballet flats and calling it done.

At Staples, you can get removable tape (search staples.com for "removeable"). Or you can use, blue painter tape is good, but it's bright blue.

Oh, no, they can't insist on high heels and are discouraging them -- but they also say no sneakers, and no flip flops, and I own exactly one pair of dress flats and they're LESS comfortable than my heels. And I could wear my 10-eye Docs but they make the dress pants break funny.

Yup! They can cross out the "so help me God" part and affirm, and there's a modified version that covers a different objection, and if they still can't see their way clear, we send them home.

I affirmed, but I didn't make a specific fuss about it, so mine doesn't have the visual strikeout -- I just shut up on that line and said "affirm" while we were repeating it.

I find that hilarious because the supervisor of the guy who's been sitting at the Library as a census assistance person is about 25 years old and was wearing little teeny lace up ankle boots with the kitten heels and a truly amazing outfit. I'm sure you can pull it together just fine.
