Fingerprinted

I got fingerprinted today!

No, I didn't do anything naughty. I applied for a job. Apparently tax-season temp jobs in the banking industry require background checks.

It's all done with a scanner now -- nothing like when I was in second grade and messing around with ink pads.

That's roughly what I looked like for the interview, too, except I was wearing a plum-colored turtleneck instead of a red waistcoat. I can simulate a grown-up!

Now, to make the spreadsheet I need to make for matociquala.

Good luck, I hope you get the job. When I applied at the IRS (temp work) a bunch of years ago, they had scanners, with ink as a backup if the scanners weren't working well. Did you ever hear back from the Census folks? I haven't.

I haven't either. It's about time that they said it would be okay to call and check back, so I will tomorrow.

Hmmm... they scan your fingerprints now? I wonder how that would work for me. Years of pottery have sanded my prints down to the point that they don't show with ink anymore.

Hee! Would you like to know the story behind it? trowa_barton and I were going to be staying overnight in NYC for the Depeche Mode concert last summer, and I did not feel like getting the evil eye from the desk clerk for checking in wearing overly casual clothes, so I put on a business suit, although since it was not actually for a job interview, I had bare legs (August!) and red patent high heeled Mary Janes.

trowa_barton's eyes nearly fell out of his head when he met me on the train. I therefore consider the outfit a success.
