Work has decided we need to wear cutting gloves on our off hands when we're using knives.

This isn't a BAD idea, exactly, and since I do sometimes cut myself despite claw grip and all that I ought to welcome it, but I have to admit I'm not crazy about the way the glove makes my hand clumsy.

It was REALLY bad when all we had in the house was a size large. My hands? Are not large, by any stretch of the imagination.

The manager very kindly obtained a size small for me today. It helps. But you know what? It's STILL longer than my fingers. Unlike motorcycle gloves, they don't seem to make cutting gloves in extra-small.

I wonder if motorcycle gloves would be up to code?

yeah, they make my grip super clumsy. If I could get one that was actually as small as my hand it might be ok, but my hands are super tiny. 6 1/2 to 7 glove.

Yeah, the only gloves of any variety that fit me are children's gloves. Which probably aren't common in a cutting glove.

I've actually considered taking apart the ove gloves someone got me to cut them to size, but eh, I'm lazy.

How about these?

The "SafeKnit" glove is available in a size 5.

Or these XS gloves?

I found these by searching for: Kevlar gloves xs

Meh - I may be fairly blockheaded, but I see them as just another way of wrapping the human race in cotton batting.
Blech.

We all hate them, actually, but management wants us to use them and will write up our chef if they catch us not using them, so when those particular managers are in the house, we gotta.

Oh, I figured it wasn't optional- I just don't like what seems to me to be a rule that says it's better to be clumsy and/or poorly trained than to teach proper use of a well sharpened kitchen knife, yanno?

A Google Products search came up with a couple cut-resistant gloves that come in XS, one of them for under $10. This one looks to have the protection mainly on the palmside, so that may be a lose, this might be better but it doesn't say what it's made of.

I don't suppose you could wear those aforementionned biker gloves...

Does it matter what kind of material is used?
