[livejournal.com profile] seeliefey said I should watch the Firefly episodes in order.

Does that mean the order on the discs, or the order in which they were aired?

I swear, it's like being a Prisoner fan again. Those have a fan-compiled chronology from the canon clues that in no way reflects the (admittedly out of sequence) screening order.

Yeek.

I'd say the order on the discs - makes a lot more sense, and the real pilot episode is a much better introduction to the series than the one that was aired on TV.

Just my two cents :-)

Watch them in the order on the discs -- that's the order they were intended to be shown in, including weaving in the unaired episodes. They make SO much more sense this way!!

DEFINITELY the order on the disc. The order in which they were aired sucked ass, in my eloquent opinion :)

The order on the disks! That's how they were intended to be seen, but Fox didn't care, obviously.

Firefly is SO fabulous. *sigh*

Re: The Prisoner.

I know what you mean. I have that complete set on DVD...and there are innumberable combinations of orders to watch them in...broadcast order, the order on the DVDs, orders in Prisoner appreciation screening order...

The order on the disks makes the story arc (which is more like a very small curved line, really, because the show died too soon) make a whole lot more sense. Granted, each ep is great on its own, but having the background information (or in the case of compression coils, foreshadowing) makes them even better.

Me? Hopeless junkie fangirl? YES.
