What you do not see in this picture, because my cell phone camera is woefully inadequate for distance work?

Is a PEREGRINE FALCON. Just sitting in the tree right above my car. I was close enough to see the markings. Definitely a peregrine.

You might be able to make out a little blodge that isn't a branch. That's the peregrine.

I see raptors on the light standards on the ramp between 84 and 9 ALL THE TIME, but I can never see their markings well enough to tell if they're peregrines or redtails (or something else, but those are the two most likely, seems to me).

It was wonderful to be close enough to see that it really WAS a peregrine, right there in the 'burbs.
