With all the things archived on the Web, it shouldn't be so damned hard to find out what the weather was like in London on December 15, 1978.

But the Times archives don't go back that far online.

And Google isn't helping much.

Am I safe to assume that it was Damned Cold?

Ha! Doubtful.

Not really. London usually doesn't get quite as cold as here - not since Victorian times anyway. Fog would be a decent bet!

I wonder if there are any weather sites that have archives of some sort...

Well...there was a blizzard two weeks after the 15th *g* (click here (http://www.personal.dundee.ac.uk/~taharley/1978_weather.htm))

The average temperature for December 1978 was 3.9 C (http://www.personal.dundee.ac.uk/~taharley/centralengav_temperat.htm).

But beyond that, you're on your own *g*

I found that site already. It was, indeed, the closest I could get.

I've decided that it hardly matters, since (if we go by movie costuming, especially the Quidditch match!) Snape is obviously cold ALL THE TIME.

I am now trying to decide if I have any plot use for the blizzard, or if it just goes under "more useless things I find out while surfing the Web."
