Switching to video placeholders and image placeholders for medium ('cause I still wanted to see people's icons) made my friends page work again.

I'm not sure about this noscript plugin, though. So far what it's done is make things I EXPECT to work automatically not work until I opt in. I might uninstall it.

Give NoScript a chance...one you've surfed around to all your favorite sites once and opted in, the annoyance factor drops off considerably. And it makes FF way, way safer.
