How much would shipping be for Recipes of the Philippines, Real French Cooking, and Home Food, up to 05401?

Assuming that no one local wants them--I'm willing to give them preference.

Just going to stick them in a box and mail them book rate. I may be at Haven on Tuesday (if I can get my headlights working!) and if yu can get a ride there I can bring them.

Will you accept cheques for shipping?

How did I know you would want the tea one, sweetie?

The three volume is part of a larger series and kind of odd, as well as very 1970s. But it's yours.

When's good for you to pick them up? Can you help us pack & move any time this week?

I'm free tomorrow to help if I can get a ride. Other than that only Friday evening would work. I have lots of work/apartment looking/boyfriend visiting.

I don't suppose you've got a shipping estimate for the Vietnamese and Thai ones, the Greek one, Maharashtra, and the yoghurt one?

I don't own cookbooks; I hoard them. I've even kept them in the bathroom for light reading.

Oh, zip code 74011. You can probably eyeball something on the USPS site with that.

No estimate, e-mail me your ground address and I'll let you know the actual shipping costs when they've gone out.

Hee hee hee. If I got hold of them, you'd find me three days later, unwashed, lying on the floor, and buried in cookbooks and grocery lists.

I've got the Little House Cookbook and Lobscouse and Spotted Dog. Those send me into transports of literary-foodie joy.

And a bound galley copy of one on tea ceremony food.

I had the Little House cookbook as a kid. I don't remember too much from it--Mom never let me really get into my more outlandish projects, which I'm fairly certain included a cook-pit in the backyard--but I know that we made Fried Apples 'n' Onions, and that I hated them, because I hated onions.

Now? I'd lick the pan clean and demand more. Actually, I've got some gorgeous Granny Smiths and a couple of onions. Hmmm....

No idea where the cookbook went, alas. Probably to one of my cousins, who weren't as well-off as we were. (One of my cousins got all my art supplies. Long story there. Wish I had 'em back now.)

Since I'm not local I'll opt out - but will suggest that for those you don't get rid of, you could set them free:

I've done that in the past and it's just a nuisance to know where to leave them.

I leave them at work - either the exam rooms or the lunch room... Are there tables at the bakery counter?

Granted, the real pain is bothering to go in and make labels and apply them (or register the numbers and hand-write the message).

Your local public library would also probably appreciate the donation...

Unfortunately, the ones I would want are all taken.

Besides which, I am already inheriting my friend Lynn's cookbook collection as she pares down...she has over 300 right now, and wants to make it more manageable.

So I might be a little swamped. But that India one would have been great! :-)

Wah, stupid inability to access flist for days! Out of what's left, I'm interested in the Herb Buyer's Guide. How are the 101 Apple and Vegetable books? If they're worthwhile, and not just shiny picture books, I might want them too.

Do you need them out of your house really soon? It seems like a shame to mail them . . .

Vegetable's been claimed, but Apple can be yours -- it's pamphletty, not picture-booky. And Herb Buyers' can go to you too.

We're moving this weekend and I'm trying to get them out before we do.

Oooh, neat. I'm moving this weekend too . . .

So, tomorrow I have a friend driving me to the Hartford airport to pick up the boyfriend. As my friend's already doing me a favor, I hate to ask him to go driving around Hartford; is getting to the airport convenient to you? Otherwise, I can just pay you to ship the books media mail. Good luck packing!
