The car dealership that had the reasonable Mustang doesn't seem to be open on Sundays. At least they're not answering their phone.
And I am not driving out there just to find out that either they're closed or they've already sold it.
This means I need to clean here. And sort. And pack.
I hate this so much.
Please come keep me company while I do this so I don't lose my mind.
Text me, call me, leave a comment here -- I'm checking every 15 minutes.

Date: 2007-06-24 05:49 pm (UTC)You're a foodie!
Do you happen to know any good Gluten-Free baking recipes or sources? This has been a seriously steep learning curve, and I don't like wasting food.

I will also point out that chickpea flour, available in Indian groceries, is GF and makes a fine breading for fried things -- that's what pakora batter is made of, and pakoras are yummy.
Sweet rice flour can be used weight-for-weight for regular flour in ladyfingers, which get their structure from whipped egg whites.
Other than that... my best suggestion is to find recipes and run them by me so i can guess whether they'd be palatable.

Date: 2007-06-24 06:28 pm (UTC)I know I'm going to need to invest in a deep fryer, because one of our favorite treats was to go out and get fried appetizers like cheese sticks and mushrooms.
I've ordered some GF cookbooks and got some GF baking mixes, but I want to be able to convert some of my traditional family recipes as well. I've got some guar gum, xantham gum, dough conditioner, and GF gluten replacer, so I just need to learn the science behind GF baking.
Also, must learn what pakoras are, they sound good.

I could go GET some bubble tea.
I could even combine it with dropping off stuff at the Salvation Army.
There's a thought!

Date: 2007-06-24 09:17 pm (UTC)Also, if you have a lot of old legal papers and bills lying around, I'd suggest buying or borrowing a shredder. They're not too expensive anymore, we got ours for about $30.
I shall send you mustang vibes and pony cookies instead. ^_~

Date: 2007-06-24 09:22 pm (UTC)d00d, you're into yoga -- you wouldn't know it from my LJ, but I LOVE yoga -- used to do that, and tai chi. I've been wanting to get back into it for forever.
Also, icon LOVE (altho I didn't LOVE the finale. But Hiro love!).

Date: 2007-06-24 09:40 pm (UTC)White Lotus? Niiiice -- I was into Zen a long time, too, and in fact the reincarnated!Keats guy in my b00k was raised right near Tassajara (I just posted an excerpt from it in my LJ is why I'm mentioning it). I mean, I still like yoga and Zen and a lot of Eastern stuff, I just sort of fell behind on it. Yoga was just wonderful.
