It's before 9 AM. Why am I up again?

At a guess, it's because eight hours is the most I can sleep at once.

Nobody else is up yet, although melovechocolate might be awake. I think I heard her get up to use the bathroom.

I've rinsed the purple out of my hair -- a lot had washed out, leaving me with bleachy instead of purple highlights around my face, so I slept in purple dye and a shower cap last night, because no WAY am I taking melovechocolate to a tattoo and piercing studio for her cartilage piercing with my hair looking uncool. Yes, I am vain.

I should go down and check on my laundry in the dryer. Then the question is whether I put away my laundry BEFORE I go out to get coffee, or after. Since I have to get dressed before coffee, I'm thinking before -- but I may hunt up clothes I like and save the putting away for after.

Then I have to find her birth certificate. And the piercer will be there 2-8, so I think before then we're going to have to go to Target, because I used the last bit of GothCare on the laundry that's in the dryer now, and I could have sworn I had a garlic press, but I can't find it, and eternaleponine still needs some warm weather business casual things for work.

And tonight is pasta with meatless balls. And tomato, cucumber, and mozzarella salad.

Anybody taking any bets on whether I'll manage to get the Instant Music and the cassette deck hooked up today? I'm guessing no. But I could surprise myself.

for not taking her to claire's to have it done with a gun. the needle LOOKS scarier but it's sharper so IT WILL HURT LESS.

You've been lecturing me HOW much? And I know HOW many pierced friends? And *I* tried to get a cartilage piercing done at Claire's, when herself was in kindergarten and getting her first earrings done, just to show her that it wasn't a big ouch, and while the piercing itself didn't hurt much, it didn't heal right and I was stupid and got it on the side I slept on and I had to take it out after a couple of weeks.

No, I asked searingpaine's girlfriend Krysta where she would go, and she said Ace of Spades in New Britain, and I called and checked on age-and-consent requirements and prices, and the piercer said I didn't need to make an appointment today, just bring her in, so she will have the reward she wants for winning a national Latin award.

it makes me happy when a parent cares more about her child than "more convenient" and "cheaper." (ie the mall)

guns may not have killed US, but the world changed for the better, and there's no reason NOT to accept the advances.

MLC has absolutely no idea what a good mom you're being by not taking the cheaper way out, and by having called around and researched. I wish she did :D - maybe in another fifteen years.

as you know, i'm off - to the Association of Professional Piercers' annual convention. i scored a press pass. i can't wait to put in my two cents' - and your post - in the first piercing guns discussion.

Actually, she does -- eternaleponine and Krysta were both explaining to her in detail about how a needle caused less tissue damage, and there was really no way to sterilize a gun, and she was MUCH better off, and eternaleponine even called her friend head_shrinker who has a cartilage piercing so she could offer an opinion on the ouch factors of gun vs. needle, and whether they numbed it, and how fast it was over and all.

I may be a freak mom, but I try to be a responsible freak mom.
