I know there are a lot fewer people working here now. But I'm still here five days a week. Please leave five size medium shirts in the next delivery?

I was actually there late enough in the day today to see the linen service guy come by. He stuck his head in and said, "Did you write that note?"

"Yeah, I did," I said, cheerfully enough.

"There were four this time. I'll make sure to tell them about five for next week."

"Thanks!"

"Where's my cookie? Just kidding."

"No, really, you want a cookie? I can give you a coconut bar or a pecan square."

"No, that's okay, I'm not hungry. You gonna be here next week?"

"I might not be here this late, but I'll leave some cookies for you."

Behold the power of cookies.

I HATE wearing shirts larger than medium -- I swim in them, and stuff falls out of the breast pocket when I lean over. Now that I have a dock for my iPod that's not the issue it used to be, but it's still not good to have a Sharpie fall into the flour bin.

It's definitely worth cookies.

it's not the buying the shirts, it's the WASHING them! The linen service DOES MY LAUNDRY for me! This is why I do not wear the chef coats I already own that are my size.
