Grr. Argh.

Today was an ANNOYING day. I come back from two days away and what's gone on in my absence? POOR PLANNING, that's what. The tomato slicer is easy to use. There's no reason for us to be 86ed on sliced tomatoes before service -- it's QUICK to put eight of them through the slicer. Add that to needing chili meat, Wellingtons, and ground pork, and I was doing a lot of stopping and starting and returning to things to finish them so there'd be SOME of everything to start service. I hate that. I like to finish a task once I start it. It didn't help that the grinder die got clogged TWICE, which makes everything take longer. And Derek was away at a funeral, and that left EP running things, and his general pessimism spread, and it was just NOT a fun day.

It doesn't help that I just got done watching episode 4 of Torchwood: Children of Earth. I am NOT pleased with the universe right now.

On the bright side, I re-created the fondue from work for tonight's dinner. I don't know how they get their cheese sauce to thicken without a roux - next time when I make it at home, I'll use a roux. But pretzel nuggets, tater tots, green beans, and apple slices dunked in cheese sauce, even if it's a thin cheese sauce? Still a pretty good dinner.

Also, enough dragons grew up that I now have new eggs.
