Cream cheese brownies
Jan. 26th, 2009 08:47 pmBaker's One-Bowl Brownies, the recipe cut in half to make an 8x8 pan instead of a 9x13 pan. Also, Ghirardelli Unsweetened instead of Baker's chocolate, because that is what I had in the cupboard.
In halving "three eggs," I used one egg and one egg white. Because the other egg yolk went into the mixer with an 8-ounce package of cream cheese, half a cup of sugar, and half a teaspoon of vanilla.
That... was more cream cheese than I expected. They're in the oven for 45 minutes. I'm not confident they'll be done by then, but I'm dead certain they won't be done before.
Since
eternaleponine's standard complaint about cream cheese brownies is "not enough cream cheese, too much brownie," I expect these will go over very well.
Pyrex mixing bowls and silicone spatulas are the best tools EVAR for One-Bowl Brownies.
If I hear a knock at my door... I accept bribes of Tullamore Dew.
