A monumental undertaking

Now that I have a brand-new hard drive, the current version of iTunes, AND an iPod, I am ripping all my CDs to the computer.

And putting most of them on the iPod, too.

This is going to take FOREVER.

Further iPod note

The new Mac Mini / version of iTunes / whatever doesn't seem to care that my iPod was initially configured to run on eternaleponine's Windows machine.

It didn't make me reformat it to hook it up, and it didn't zorch all of her music that we loaded on there when Ludo (the old G3) wouldn't talk to it.

This is a HUGE win.

New strategy

I'm importing in blocks by artist now, grabbed sort of at whim by the "OOH I NEED THIS NOW" method, but I am importing a random sampler IN BETWEEN each standard album.

It's a plan.
