I hate cleaning. I really do.

And I owe over three hours of the 15-minutes-a-day cleaning that was eternaleponine's New Year's resolution for the household, because I have been a Lazy Bum-Head.

I have to bribe myself six ways to Sunday to get any of it done at all. I need my iPod on. After several 15-minute chunks, I need eternaleponine to rip one of my CDs to her iTunes and load it onto my iPod, so I can listen to my OWN music and not just hers (technical difficulties with this ancient G3 mean I can't just do this on my own computer, and so my iPod is loaded from her collection).

Time spent cleaning my bedroom does not count to the household goals. However, for every 2 15-minute chunks spent elsewhere in the house, I am letting myself spen 15 minutes in my bedroom, because it needs it too, and if I wait until the rest of the house is done, my bedroom won't get clean EVER.

I am not allowed to just clean-and-scrub type clean, because eternaleponine is capable of doing that. No, I have to declutter, because if I leave it to her, she'll throw everything out.

She made me go through all my geek buttons during one of my chunks. And she wanted me to throw shadowflyer's out, because if he hasn't claimed them yet... and she said I was keeping too many of mine. Well, I thinned mine down by at least half, and I put shadowflyer's into a bag and put them in melovechocolate's backpack so she can take them to him tomorrow.

eternaleponine has just informed me that when she plugs my iPod into her computer, the little display shows what COLOR it is -- mine is white, and hers is black, and the computer is able to TELL.

But my timer went off, so it's back to the grind for me. Now with added Cruxshadows!

iTunes also knows what KIND of ipod it is. I have a mini and a shuffle
and it shows the shape too! *^^* I'm so in awe of iTunes - it's like psychic. sure, it's just figuring it out from the serial #, but that's not the point, is it?

Sugar, I NEED a cleaning fascist (er, one other than Kyle, who shouts and makes me cranky) who I *can't* stick my tongue out at . . . er, not implying that you actually ARE one!

I think the 15-minutes-a-day thing is a good idea, and I hope you're able to catch up so that it doesn't turn into such a big unmanageable chunk next time.

I'm caught up and the dumpster is overloaded... so I have made a big dent in the decluttering, obviously!

And eternaleponine has loaded all sorts of essential goodies onto my iPod now. Most of which she's deleted from her computer right away, because she has no interest in surf guitar or ska or Elvis Costello or the soundtracks to "The Harder They Come" or "Threesome" -- but then I specifically went looking for ones she wouldn't delete, and so Rancid and Trendy (www.trendypunks.com) are on there too.

So I will be a happier girl at work tomorrow, oh yes.

I thought it was a good idea, too... hence why I did it. Because pretty much you can always find 15 minutes to get something done. Trouble has been that she hasn't been home on weekends, so there has been no catch-up time for a while. But now it's all caught up. (I'll admit it, I was a week behind, too.) Hurray!
