Each player of this game starts off with 10 weird things/habits about themselves. People who get tagged need to write a blog of their own 10 weird habits/things as well as state this rule clearly. At the end you need to choose 6 people to tag.
1) I really don't enjoy fresh fruit, and haven't since I was about five. Fruit juice? Sure. Cooked fruit desserts, jams, stuff like that? No problem. I've learned, out of politeness, to be able to eat a moderate amount of a fruit cup or something (as long as there are no nasty banana cooties on it, bananas are just vile), but picking up a whole apple as a snack? Nope, not gonna happen.
2) I swore for years and years that I didn't want a cell phone, but now that I have one, I love it. Especially text messages. I am the queen of text messages.
3) I find it much easier to tackle a large cleaning project if I have someone to keep me company. They don't have to help in any physical way. They just have to hang out and talk to me while I deal with all the clutter.
4) I have a ridiculously large collection of bandanas, and while I can't imagine another color of standard bandana print that I need (okay, maybe dark green), I am entirely unable to resist ones with skull prints on them. I have my trademark Mean Skulls, Jack Skellington, Pirates of the Carribean, a skull-and-chain print I found at the dollar store, and several others besides.
5) I don't watch television. Not unless someone else is watching and invites me to. I haven't had cable in at least five years, and I'm so far out of the habit that I find it very hard to focus on a TV show. I made an exception last month to see My Chemical Romance on Saturday Night Live, but that's about IT.
6) I am extremely ticklish, most notably on my kneecaps. Not just "under certain circumstances" -- it's a permanent thing. And my LEAST violent reaction to being tickled is a dramatic flinch. Don't even consider tickling me if you're not prepared to get hit.
7) I often have to interrupt my reading to find a pair of tweezers, because I stroke my chin without thinking about it, and I'll inevitably feel a stray hair that I have to get rid of NOW NOW NOW dammit.
8) I always keep both a black and a silver Sharpie in the breast pocket of my leather jacket.
9) Certain phrases, if I hear them, will always trigger the Rocky Horror audience response line in my head, and it's a definite effort not to say them out loud most of the time.
10) I love hot tea, but no matter what size the mug I'm drinking from, I tend to leave the last half-inch undrunk. It gets cold and I don't want it any more!

Date: 2006-11-25 06:24 pm (UTC)1. I do enjoy fresh fruit, so I'll grant that one as weird. Except my aversion to mayo is probably just as weird so I tend to grant amnesty on that one.
2. I love my cell phone. It's so handy for, say, finding someone at a crowded event. Or at the airport. You can go to events as a group and split up with total confidence that you'll be able to find one another again.
3. Cleaning is always better with company. I don't know anyone who prefers cleaning alone.
4. If you like a steady supply of bandanas, check out www.orientaltrading.com - they sell all kinds of silly bandanas at really low prices. Currently you get a dozen pirate bandanas (various skull and crossbones motifs) for ten bucks. So next time you "deserve" an award for doing something good...
5. Someday, if I have time, I'll see what this TV thing is all about. But it's so far below all the other items on my to-do list, I'll probably be over 80 before I get to it.
6. There's a video somewhere of me in college with some cruel friends who had just discovered that they could just look me in the idea and describe how they'd tickle me, and I'd start to squirm and whimper.
7. For me it's dry skin and I go for lotion.
8. They make silver sharpies? Cooooool. I'll have to look. I don't carry one around but I have sharpies in pretty much every room of the house including (especially) the garage.
9. For me it's phrases from "The Princess Bride". Especially the word "inconceivable!" Or the phrase "It's possible..." ("It's possible.... pig. It's conceivable, you miserable vomitous mass...")
10. There's a cup sitting in front of me right now with a half-inch of cold earl grey in it....
So sorry, we will have to have parallel rooms at the asylum...

I do, for two reasons: 1., other people get in my way (this is partly due to the extreme tinyness of my apartment) and 2. if other people are around, I feel like I should be paying attention to them rather than cleaning.
