Thank heaven for little girls
Dec. 15th, 2003 05:18 pmIt's so much fun to sew little velvet baby dresses.
The construction is simple. I don't even have to use the free arm on my sewing machine, because you sew the sleeves in first before you do the side and underarm seams.
The seams are short, so it works up quickly.
And it's so damn CUTE!
It's for my 18-month-old niece. It's cranberry velvet with a lace collar and three little ribbon rosebuds at the tuck points.
And it's nearly done! I have to tape down the sleeve seams, because I'm using a very heavy velvet and I don't want it to chafe her, and then do the underarm seams and the hem, the three back buttonholes, and add on the roses. This is definitely nearly done.
Tomorrow I have to decide what I'm willing to use out of my fabric stash to make the bedside caddies.
