Remember that porch sanding and painting project I started back around the 4th of July?

I just finished it tonight.

Yes, with Hurricane Isabel-influenced rains due any minute.

Really, there were reasons it took so long -- sanding belt broke midway and it took a while for me to get new belts, much interference from rainstorms, various weekends we had to spend traveling, and of course that sewing project.

But there is now a fresh coat fo Behr slate gray porch paint ON THE PORCH.

Anybody know what happens if fresh wet paint gets rained on?

Eep.

I'm pretty sure it will have to be redone. :(

I'm envious that your porch is done! The first summer in our house we removed all the screening on our porch and started working on it... then I got too pregnant and couldn't help and well, um... six summers later and it's still not done because there've been so many other house projects needing doing.

So, yay porch! Hope the paint dried before the rains begin!

I know where you're coming from.

I didn't say anything about the bathroom redecoration project that's three years incomplete. At this point, some of the half-stripped moldings were left out on the back porch and I may just have to give up and buy matching new moldings because of the weathering damage.

Maybe now that I've completed the porch project, I'll have some impetus to re-start the bathroom. Wish me luck!

Our current goal is our daughter's new room (which was once upon a time supposed to be a library but never got there) so she can move in it so we can get our son into a real room. If I ever can manage to get Kevin time to finish it up, it shouldn't take long... we hope!

Next summer we do the porch. *fingers crossed* Of course, then there's the part of my head that wonders whether it's permissable to start house shopping if I haven't actually completed very many projects on the old one!

Congrats.
No matter what the rains have done, it is always good to get a project complete.

Since I suffer from projectus incompletus, I am sick with envy.

*grin*

I suffer from project incompletus myself. Did my reply about my bathroom not show up?

However, I'm getting better about it. HAVING to finish sewing projects for performances helps a lot.

Yes, I heard the bathroom comment. And you have just stated here that you have more than ONE project you have completed lately.

Last thing I finished was... well... I can't recall.

I really can't recall.

I think it was the necklace I put together for a friend, that was five years ago, at least...
