A good news, bad news sort of day
Sep. 29th, 2005 01:14 pmThe good news is I got hired, for a new job with excellent hours and benefits I can sign up for right away.
The bad news is that half the ceiling of the second floor bathroom just collapsed, not half an hour after we first noticed a leak and shut off the water to the third floor toilet.
Almost on
shadowflyer's head.
Guess my first paycheck (and maybe more) is going to go to a plumber.

Date: 2005-09-29 05:51 pm (UTC)House was built in 1897, clearly with the expectation of resident servants (probably a cook and a maid-of-all-work, or else a housekeeper who was indulged with two rooms, but I find that unlikely). I could use a resident servant now, let me tell you.

And glad to hear about the job!
