Either that, or Calvin Klein's got some serious vanity sizing going on.

I went shopping for jeans today -- at the Salvation Army, my usual venue for clothes shopping. After months of admiring Laura the barista's butt in her low-rise jeans, I decided I had to see if they would make MY butt look that good. I only ever see myself in the damn houndstooth checks these days, or pajama pants, and the houndstooth pants are a men's cut, so there's no question that I look like crap in them, but nobody cares what my butt looks like when I'm at work anyway.

Now, the jeans I currently own are all Levis, mostly the 550 relaxed fit, sizes 8 and 10. Also one pair of 512 slim fit in size 11.

OK, they've been feeling kind of loose lately. But not THAT loose.

But when I went and tried on jeans, I came home with a pair of low-rise Calvin Klein SIZE 5 jeans.

I haven't worn a size 5 since I was... sixteen? And I know I weigh more than I did then.

I also found a pair of 31/30 501s (yay 501s), which seems much more in line with what size I thought I was (when I wore a size 5, I wore 29/30s), and a size 8 pair of Levis without a style number on them that fit well. I fit easily into a pair of size 7 Levis 565s, but I didn't think the cut did much for me, and Gap size 10 low-rise jeans were decidedly Too Big.

There weren't any 520s to be had, [livejournal.com profile] dphearson. I looked!

I also found a J. Press brown tweed men's suit for $11.50. It has no size markings but it seems quite large. [livejournal.com profile] ghilledhu, I want to try it on [livejournal.com profile] darthsatyr, because this is SUCH a Professor Lupin suit, it's amazing. I just want to pet the wool. And... $11.50.

[livejournal.com profile] ashbet has a black leather overbust corset that's too small for her in the bust and a 24 waist. I do not need to spend $90 on a corset. I do not, I do not, I do not.

But I WANT it!
