So, Saturday, I got the Visor Deluxe that [livejournal.com profile] gnomi sent me. Today was the first day I played with it.

First I had to clear off the Legos from my computer desk to make space for the hotsync cradle.

Then I practiced Graffiti by putting a master grocery list into the To-Do section, using "show only due items" to show what I actually needed to buy, and using priorities to make a rough categorizing sort on the stuff. Produce, dairy, meats/frozens (with bread in there because it happens to live near the frozen in the store), dry pantry items, and not-food.

I am sure I will figure out other nifty things to do with this toy, but that was as far as I got today.

Then I looked at the little leather case for it, and said "looks like a wallet," you know, with credit card slots and everything, so I figured I would try to transfer my wallet contents to it, since my supposedly durable hemp wallet is shredded at the edges after a couple of years.

There are a couple of problems with using it as a wallet, though. One is that you can't stuff too many cards into the slots, so things like my Kinko's copy card and my Barnes & Noble member card get left out.

The bigger problem, though, is that it's just too damn big to fit in a back pocket, which is where I have kept my wallet for some time now, boy-style. I have gotten entirely out of the habit of carrying a purse, to the point where I had to go buy one especially for a bar mitzvah I went to in march, and I'm not talking a dressy evening purse, I'm talking an ordinary small black daytime handbag.

Maybe it's time to take all of the culinary school stuff out of my purple backpack, and start using that again. After all, I've been out of school for nearly a year...

Backpack. Yeah. And it's purple...
