Rotten stinking bastards imposing THEIR religion on OUR bodies:

And, from [livejournal.com profile] dphearson, two suggestions on what to do if this ever happens to you:

1) If you have insurance coverage, call your insurance company immediately- and call often to exert pressure. That dispenser will be fired. (Dana has done this herself as an insurance rep.)

2) Spread the name through your grapevine. And call the press. They love a good controverisal story.

In fact, get in front of the manager of the drug store and call the local TV station's news editor. Store managers HATE TV news trucks pulling in to their parking lots.

GRrrrrrr. That REALLY pisses me off. I've taken them since I was 15 for a medical condition, and it was bad enough when my insurance companies wouldn't cover them (even with a doctor's note!)

Grumble.

I'm surprised that refusing to prescribe the pill for religious reasons is even legal.

That is some amazingly stupid shit.

It makes me shudder to think that these people are still qualified practitioners. If this happened over here (where contraception of any form has always been free to all on the NHS), they'd be out of a job in minutes.

Bloody pro-lifers. Grr. Just when I think they can't make me any angrier.

Anti-choicers, you mean.

They're invariably the same people who support the death penalty and oppose any form of government assistance that would make child care or health care easier to obtain. They drag their heels on domestic violence and hate gun restrictions with the heat of a thousand suns.

They're "pro-life" if you're in utero, but once you're born? Fuck you.

augh!!! I hate this shit. I've heard about it before. I am taking BCPs primarily to control excessive bleeding and cramps. Even when I AM getting laid, which I currently am not, I use my pills as a BACKUP form of birth control - insurance for if a condom slips off or fails. The chance of this causing an "abortion" (even is such is possible, which is not proven) is so astronomically low as to be laughable. If some pharmacist ever got on my case about this I would cause such a scene they'd have to arrest me to drag me out of the store without my pills. Pigfuckers.

Borrow a baby and walk through the store at busy times pushing a pram while wearing sandwich boards which proclaim, front and back "This pharmacy refused to fulfill my Pill prescription on "moral grounds" " (no, you aren't claiming the baby is a result. And who is the store to say where you babysit your friends' children? Or what conclusions passing onlookers leap to? You are merely stating a fact).
