stupid Craigslist scams

The dog-walking job was no such thing, it was funneling eyes past ads and other crap in the guise of a survey.

ChaCha, on the other hand, is legit, I know because I use the service as a consumer and beetiger has served as a guide. The drawback is, I know it doesn't earn you a lot of money. But it's at least fun to answer the questions on the net. I've watched the training videos and answered the sample questions; let's see if I get confirmed. At the very least, it looks like I could keep myself in cheeseburgers with it.

I'm doing better on Craigslist (with potential jobs - no one's called me yet but they look like real jobs) than on monster.com, careerbuilder.com, the Yale websites, Chubb, Subway, and all the other big companies around here COMBINED. I hope it works for you.

My boyfriend heard on talk radio (which I believe is conspiracy theorists) that census takers were hired for one area, then fired and rehired for another area, so that it looked like there were more jobs for a change. Is that true?

AFAIK that's a mischaracterization. Some workers may have been laid off for lack of work in one area as the operation wound up and then reassigned to another area where there was still work to get done, but I seriously doubt they were trying to inflate the job count for unemployment purposes, they would have been doing that to keep an internal tracking of how many man-hours were required for each area. But I don't really know anything beyond one local office level.
