timing is everything
Sep. 5th, 2009 02:36 pmI suppose if I had to get sick, doing it right before work closes down for three days so they can refinish the floors isn't the worst way to do it.
Yesterday was the worst. I was moving at about 1/3 speed. Derek said, "Look, obviously you're here because you want the hours, so I'm not going to SEND you home and take them away from you, but you're also obviously not OK, so if you need to GO home, you can." I was scheduled for six hours. I made it, doped up on cold meds, for three.
I stayed awake and vertical at home until the kiddo got home from school, because it was my turn to take her for a haircut. I had virtuous plans to cook dinner last night, and even bought broccoli and baby corn to make a stir-fry, but I was so out of it when it came time to cook that I couldn't even pour rice into a measuring cup without scattering it all over the floor, so I punted and ordered a pizza. I had enough cash left to do that.
Today I was also scheduled for six hours, but since we're going to be closed Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, there wasn't as much prep to do as there otherwise would be on a Saturday. It took four and a half hours to knock out the list, which was approaching my energy limits, so I guess that worked.
Stopped in at the grocery store on the way home to get rice, half & half for coffee, refried beans, chips and salsa, and some onions. Now I'm committed to cooking for the next few days.
The only other thing I plan to do is SLEEP.
